1885

Hajee family enters ship chandling trade in Mumbai as Embrahim Mulla Samsuddin & Co. (EMS).

1950

EMS branches out as "West Bengal Trading Corporation" (WBTC) in Kolkata, India.

1982

Chairman Saifuddin Hajee graduates from IIT Mumbai (B.Tech) and joins family business.

2001

Chairman Saifuddin Hajee establishes SHM Shipcare (SHM) located across Mumbai, Kolkata, Vizag and Chennai

2002

SHM pioneers lifeboat servicing in India through partnership with Umoe Schat Harding, now Harding Safety AS

2002

SHM develops and launches its range of IRS Approved Throw Over Board Liferafts in the market

2003

SHM wins contracts for service and maintenance of lifeboats, liferafts, and fire safety systems on Oil & Natural Gas Corporation's (ONGC) offshore assets

2004

SHM becomes sole agent of Survitec Group and Viking Life-Saving in India

2005

SHM charters 3 of its first patrol boats to Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB)

2006

SHM supports Gujarat State Disaster Management (GSDMA) during floods by supplying over 10,000 lifejackets and lifebuoys

2007

Homa Engineering Works acquired, propelling SHM's capabiities into ship repairs

2008

India's first major Halon replacement with a Novec 1230 system for Tata Power completed by SHM

2009

Craftway Engineers Ltd. acquired to chalk SHM's entrance into FRP boat building.

2010

SHM constructs its first boat for the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Byculla)

2011

SHM engages charter hire of 7 security boats to Indian Navy and 1 to Mormugao Port Trust (Goa)

2012

SHM secures contract for building 14 Immediate Support Vessels for ONGC, now inducted as an Indian Naval vessel

2012

SHM bags its 30th EPC safety package order for ONGC's asset through contractor McDermott Middle East Inc.

2013

Pavlo Fire-Engineers acquired, marking SHM's entrance in manufacturing of fire extinguishers.

2013

SHM restructures and rebrands itself with a new visual identity.

2014

SHM builds India's first high speed Crew Boat, Ocean Crewzer, for offshore oilfield operations

2014

Contract for fire safety system of the Honourable High Court Lucknow Bench (UPRNN) awarded to SHM.

2014

SHM opens branches in Singapore, Dubai, Port Klang, Colombo

2014

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. charters SHM's security boat at its offshore Kochi refinery

2014

SHM develops India's first Inflatable Rescue Boat, Safin 420, that is compliant to the SOLAS and Euoprean EC/MED standards

2015

SHM undertakes replacement of 13 deluge and isolation valves on ONGC platforms

2015

SHM develops and launches it's own range of Marine & Offshore Safety equipment such as Lifejackets, Lifebuoys, Immersion Suits, Lights etc.

2016

SHM successfully executes hook retrofits and refurbishments of 30 lifeboats on passenger vessels operated by the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) in record time.
